The Northwestern Pacific ran north from the Bay through Sonoma and Mendocino counties. Painted at large scale, the locomotive is held at the moment the fog takes it — steel, weight and weather in the same breath.

Scale
A freight car is an object of enormous weight rendered against hillsides and yards so that the land, not the machine, sets the measure.

Northern California rail — the Northwestern Pacific, yard tracks, sidings and the coastal runs that thread the redwoods and the Bay.
